About Danny

Danny Pierce My name is Danny Pierce.  I graduated St. Joseph-Ogden High School in January, 1999.  Almost immediately after graduating, not even 18 years old, I decided to enroll in "beauty school" that following April.  While going to school part time, I worked at B.J. Grand Salon in Champaign as a stylist assistant for almost 2 years before graduating Concept College of Cosmetology in October of 2001.

Shortly after graduating school, I left B.J. Grand Salon to become a salon manager for a chain salon owned by Regis Corporation, a position that I held for 3 years.  After my experience as a salon manager I decided to step back from my role as salon manager and work "behind the chair" exclusively as an artist in 2004 by moving to Timothy John Salon in Urbana.  While at Timothy John Salon I studied to become a Redken Certified Haircolorist.

Becoming a Redken Certified Haircolorist requires passing a comprehensive written, practical, and scenario test, based on principles of haircolor, Redken Haircolor brands and creative color including formulation, foil placement, and color correction.  The exam took place at the Redken Exchange on 5th Avenue in NYC.  I completed the Certified Haircolorist program in October of 2007.

As a member of this elite group of hair colorists, Redken has recognized me for my expertise and my commitment to excellence. There are only a couple thousand Redken Certified Haircolorists in the United States.  In spring of 2008, I joined Kane & Company Salon in Champaign.

A year later, in the summer of 2009, I was accepted by Redken 5th Avenue NYC to join the Redken Artist Network, which is a team of less than 500 Redken Artists.  Myself, along with 46 other salon professionals were selected from hundreds of applicants to be part of the Redken Artist Induction after a rigorous interview process stretching six months.  The pre-screening phase included audition packets, videos, multiple interviews and technical and business skill assessments by the Redken Director's of Training.  After being accepted, I experienced 12 days of intensive hands on training ranging from Facilitation Skills, Redken Principles, Redken Haircare, Styling & Haircolor Brands, Business Skills, and Finishing and Design.  The training was facilitated by key Redken Artists and the Redken Director's of Training.

The Redken Artist Network is a group of salon professionals with specialized talents that collectively support a common goal - to gain a commitment from salons for their growth through Redken Education.  Members of the Redken Artist Network support that goal by offering advanced training to Salon Professionals at all levels.  Training is offered in their salon or at an Educational Event, such as a hair shows sponsored by Redken 5th Avenue NYC or various professional distributors.
